While both the corporate and retail trade models require clients to make some level of cash commitment, the hospitality trade model does not require any cash outlay from the client. NTA Trade is usually willing to take full payment, including its commission, in empty airline seats, cruise cabins, hotel rooms or restaurant tables.

Why Trade Excess Capacity?

The revenue potential of an unsold hotel room, meeting room, airline seat, cruise cabin or restaurant table is lost forever. Trade allows the hospitality industry to convert this excess capacity into trade credits that can be used to purchase media and other goods and services. We recognize that excess inventory throughout certain times of the year and in certain economies can be especially high. Working with NTA Trade provides more options than leaving the space empty or selling it at a greatly reduced rate to a discounter. NTA Trade does not discount rates and provides real value for unsold inventory.

Available airline seats, cruise cabins, hotel rooms or restaurant tables that would otherwise go empty or be discounted can be traded for a variety of media, including in-flight and consumer magazines, card desks, radio flights, billboards, airport shuttle busses, taxi tops, cinema screens and mobile ads.

A quick look at the math shows that a 300-room property running at 80% annual occupancy loses potential revenue of $4.38 million! Trading just 30% of this excess capacity offers a property trade credits worth more than $1 million, and these trade credits can finance the cost of advertising or other necessary goods and services without displacing any cash business.

The primary advantage to trading excess capacity is that the supplier receives full retail value for the space occupied by the trade customer. This scenario offers a better alternative than that available through discounters or auctioneers who sell off excess capacity at bargain basement prices.

Why Trade Excess Capacity with NTA Trade?

NTA Trade is experienced in helping hospitality clients meet their media goals and build consumer awareness. A full 30% of NTA's national media sales are conducted on behalf of the hospitality industry.

While most corporate barter companies require a mix of cash and trade credits for all scheduled media, NTA Trade will always strive to deliver a broad spectrum of quality broadcast, print and outdoor and other out-of-home media options on a full trade basis.

While most retail barter companies require a cash commission for media, NTA Trade also offers the option of paying commissions in the form of excess inventory, whether it be an empty airline seat, cruise cabin, hotel room or restaurant table.

NTA Trade will work to meet each client's unique needs. For example, while most clients prefer to book their media at published rates on a full trade basis, some clients may be interested in booking it at a lower rate. This adjustment can be made by incorporating a small cash component in the overall price, ensuring that the client receives cash equivalent value for his trade credits. NTA Trade often works in tandem with advertising agencies to finalize the necessary details of the budget and deliver an effective and cost-efficient media campaign.

NTA Trade can deliver more than media in exchange for excess capacity. Our network of 6,000 clients enables us to offer a broad spectrum of products and services such as: corporate gifts, employee incentives, office and business equipment, printing services, customized apparel, ad specialty items and much more.

NTA Trade has consistently grown its business by seeking sources to fill the newly identified needs of existing clients. Our active commitment to superior customer service continues to set us apart from other barter companies. It is also a critical factor in building and maintaining long-term relationships with our clients.
